Everest base camp is the most famous and one of the most spectacular treks in the Himalayas, along routes lined and carved out by beautiful, multi-hued prayer flags, prayer wheels and intricately carved Mani stones. Not only is Everest Base Camp exceptionally close the world's highest mountain (8,848m) but it is also home to the wonderfully friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, a variety of cultures, traditions, colourful festivals and monasteries. The park includes the upper catchments areas of the Dudh Kosi and Bhote Kosi Rivers. The park is largely composed of rugged terrain and deep gorges within an elevation of 2845m at Monju to the top of the world, Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) at 8,848m above sea level. Other peaks above 6,000m are Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Thamserku, Nuptse, Amadablam, and Pumori. This 13 day trek begins with an "eye opening" flight to Lukla at 9184ft (2800m). The trek passes through the picturesque Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar culminating in the "ascent" of Kala Patthar - 18,187ft (5545m) from where the classic views of Everest and its surrounding peaks are available. Most of the trek is spent above altitudes of 3000 meters. Although this is a short trek, by Nepali standards, there will be plenty of time to enjoy the culture of the Sherpas, visit ancient monasteries and learn how Lamaistic Buddhism influences Sherpa life. We shall stop at any of the numerous teahouses, sip a glass of sweetened tea or Chang (millet beer) and get a taste of a hospitality unique to the Sherpas. Beautiful, multi-hued prayer flags, prayer wheels and intricately carved mani stones line every hilltop, rock wall and trail side singing prayers to the gods with every breeze and every passing traveler.
 

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu Airport.
You will be met at the airport by our Adventure Jaljale representative and transfered to your hotel in Kathmandu. Rest at the hotel and briefing about the trip. There should be time to explore the city's many charms on your own too. Overnight (O/N) in Kathmandu (breakfast included).

Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley.
Leave at 9 am for full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley including the holiest site in Nepal: the Hindu temple complex at Pashupatinath (a UNESCO world heritage site) & the biggest Buddhist Stupa at Boudhanath. We can also visit the Shyambhunath a 2000 year old temple colloquially known as the "Monkey Temple" and visit Patan city of fine arts. In the evening there wil be a briefing at your hotel or at the office. O/N at lodge in Kathmandu (breakfast included).

Day 3 : Fly to Lukla early in the morning (2827 mtr. 40 minutes flight) and then trek to Phakding (3 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 4 : Trek to Namche Bazaar (3443 mtr. 5/6 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 5 : Rest Day

Day 6 : Trek to Tengboche (3820 mtr. 5/6 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 7 : Trek to Pheriche (4230 mtr. 4/5 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 8 : Rest day in the same place for Acclimatization.

Day 9 : Trek to Lobuche (4895 mtr. 6/7 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 10 : Visit to Kalapattar (5545 mtr. early in the morning for the best Everest view back to Gorakshep take breakfast trek to EBC 8 hours). Over night at lodge.

Day 11 : Trek to Everest Base Camp (5350 mtrs. 5 hours). Over night at lodge.

Day 12 : Trek back to Pheriche (5/6 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 13 : Trek back to Namche Bazar (8 hours waking). Over night at lodge.

Day 14 : Trek back to Phagding (4 hours walking). Over night at lodge.

Day 15 : Walk to lukla (4 hours walking)

Day 16 : Fly back to Kathmandu (40 minutes flight). Over night at accommodation in Kathmandu.

Day 17: (optional) Free day in Kathmandu
O/N at guesthouse in Kathmandu (breakfast included)

Day 18: Transfer to international airport for your final departure.

If on the other hand your trip is at an end, we will say goodbye for now and our Airport Representative will drop you at the Kathmandu International Airport for your flight departure from Nepal.
